The Rideau St. Lawrence Family Health Team doesn’t provide primary care directly, but here are some options to help you connect with a provider:

EMERGENCY

If you are experiencing a health emergency, call 911 or visit your local hospital emergency department.

  1. Call or Online: Health811 is a free, secure and confidential service people in Ontario can call or access online 24/7 to receive health advice from a registered nurse, ask questions about symptoms they may be experiencing, find local health services and get trusted health information. The service can be accessed by calling 811 or (TTY: 1-866-797-0007), chatting online or visiting Health811’s website at ontario.ca/health811.
  2. Virtual: The East Region Virtual Care Clinic (ERVCC) serves patients throughout Ontario’s East Region who are experiencing an urgent medical condition and need access to timely care. The free service is available 7 days a week from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. at  www.virtualcareontario.ca or by calling 1.888.684.1999.
  3. Telephone: You may opt to register with Ontario Health Care Connect, a provincial organization that assists Ontarians in finding a provider within their community. They can be reached at 1.800.445.1822.
  4. Walk-In: Pitt Street Medical Center offers walk-in services; you can learn more by inquiring at:

  5. Pharmacy: Most local pharmacies can provide treatments for minor ailments that don’t require a primary care visit beforehand. Check with your pharmacy about what they offer.
  6. In-person, in-home: If you are 80 or older and are looking for in-person, in-home physician services, Dr. DiCintio (MD) accepts new patients. Call their office at 343-585-1194.
  7. Health Care Connect: Health Care Connect is a program launched by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care to help Ontarians without a family health care provider find one. There are two ways they can help:

    1. Call: 1 (800) 445-1822 and get help finding a doctor in your area or…
