Rideau St. Lawrence Family Health Team Announces Retirement of Executive Director and Welcomes Successor

The Rideau St. Lawrence Family Health Team (RSLFHT) announced today a transition in leadership celebrating the achievements of Executive Director Donna Derouchie and welcoming Elizabeth Ann Whitten who will take on the role as of December 1st, 2025.

After 5 years of dedicated service to Rideau St. Lawrence Family Health team and the Community, Ms. Derouchie will be retiring. Under her leadership, the FHT achieved several key milestones including initial recruitment of staff, physicians and board, partnerships with the Great River Ontario Health Team, integration with existing family medicine clinics and most recently, a new website.

“Donna’s leadership has been instrumental in expanding the Family Health Team and integrating it seamlessly into existing family medicine clinics,” explained Dr. Vikas Bhagirath, a member of the Board of Directors of the RSLFHT. “We thank Donna for her dedication and outstanding contributions, and we look forward to building on her legacy under Elizabeth’s guidance.”

Welcoming a new era of leadership

Elizabeth Ann Whitten officially steps into the role of Executive Director on December 1st and brings a wealth of experience to the position. Ms. Whitten has a bachelor’s degree in psychology, and is a registered member with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, most recently serving as the Operational Vice-President at Queensway Medical Centre and prior to that was the Finance and Operations Manager at the Connexion Family Health team in Ottawa.

“I find this work truly rewarding and it is an honour to join the Rideau St. Lawrence Family Health Team. I look forward to building on Donna’s strong foundation with the continuous vision of improving health outcomes together with individuals and families,” remarked Ms. Whitten.
